Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what information PneuMobile uses, why, and what your rights are. It is intended to comply with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who is responsible?

PneuMobile is operated by Eric Fréchette, in Quebec. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Eric Fréchette.

2. In short

• PneuMobile has no account server and no database: we do not receive your information.
• What you enter in the app stays on your device.
• We do not sell or rent any personal information.

3. Your location

If you tap the location button, your browser asks for permission to share your location. You can refuse and enter a city or postal code instead.

• Your location is used only to find tire and rim businesses near you.
• To run the search, your location (or the city / postal code you entered) is sent directly from your browser to OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim and Overpass).
• The last place you searched is kept on your device only (see section 5) so you don't have to type it again. PneuMobile does not store it on any server and does not sell it.

4. Affiliate links and cookies

PneuMobile contains links to retailers. These are affiliate links: if you make a purchase after clicking one, PneuMobile may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.

When you click one of these links, you leave PneuMobile. The retailer or affiliate network (for example Amazon, CJ, Impact, Rakuten or eBay) may then place cookies in your browser to know that you came from PneuMobile. These companies have their own privacy policies. PneuMobile does not receive your purchase information (name, address, payment).

PneuMobile itself does not use advertising cookies or analytics tools.

5. What is stored on your device

The app uses your browser's local storage (“localStorage”). This data stays on your phone or computer and is never sent to us:

• Account (if you create one, which is optional): your email, your name and an encrypted fingerprint (hash) of your password, plus your sign-in session. The account exists only on this device.
• Last place searched: the place name and its coordinates.
• Preferences: the service you chose (sales, installation, rims), your tire size, your language (French or English) and your music choice (on or off). The music is hosted on our own site: no third-party service is contacted to play it.
• Click counter: a list of the most recent retailer links you tapped (date, retailer, tire size), up to 200 entries.

To erase everything: sign out, then clear the site data in your browser settings, or remove the app from your home screen.

6. Other services used

• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, Overpass): searching for places and businesses.
• Netlify: website hosting. Like any host, Netlify may keep technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) to operate and protect the site.
• Google Fonts: the typeface is loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
• Google Maps: only if you tap “Directions”.

Some of these services may process data outside Quebec and Canada.

7. Your rights

You have the right:

• to know what information we hold about you and to access it;
• to have it corrected (rectification);
• to withdraw your consent at any time, for example by blocking location access in your browser settings;
• to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Since your data stays on your device, you can view and delete it yourself. For any questions, write to the person responsible (section 1).

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
